Mr. Laxman Alreja was born
in Jacobabad, Sind, India. He graduated with a B.E. in Civil Engineering in
1957 from University of Rajasthan, India.
From 1957 to 1962, Mr. Alreja
was assistant engineer, responsible for the construction and design of bridges,
and buildings in Public Works Department of Rajasthan State in India. From 1962
to 1965, he was residential engineer at Birla Cement Works. From 1965 to 1970
he was Executive Engineer in the Dept of Atomic Energy, Govt of India for
Rajasthan Atomic Power Project.
Mr. Alreja migrated to USA
in 1970, came to Chicago, and passed the Professional Engineer Examination in
1971. He joined Morse/Diesel Construction Company which was awarded the
contract to build the Sears Tower and later numerous other high rise buildings.
After 12 years working with Morse/ Diesel Company, he left the company as
project superintendent in 1983. Thereafter, Mr. Alreja started and developed 3
Medical Diagnostic facilities and was Administrator of these medical facilities
for 9 years from 1983 to 1992.
Between 1994 and March
2008, Mr. Alreja was founder, president and chief executive officer of AAA
Galvanizing which he sold to AZZ, the largest publicly held galvanizing company
in the U.S. By profession, Mr. Alreja is a licensed professional engineer from
the State of Illinois with 50 years experience in the construction industry.
From April 2008 to present,
Laxman Alreja has been actively involved in the expansion and
operationalization of Midwest Biofuels, LLC, a 7.5M gallon capacity facility
located in Clinton, Wisconsin, about 2 hours northwest of Chicago. In March
2009, he acquired a 100% equity interest in the business and is overseeing it
as its Chief Executive Officer.
